Near Ryogoku Station, 楽味 is a dependable choice when you want a filling meal, with affordable set meals and izakaya dishes on offer. One of its well-loved dishes is karaage: freshly fried, tender chicken served with sauce or spring onion, with a flavour that pairs naturally with a bowl of white rice. There are portions to suit different appetites, too, including the 大関からあげ (Ozeki karaage), twice the regular amount, and the 横綱からあげ (Yokozuna karaage), a generous three times the volume—hearty set meals with a nod to Ryogoku’s sumo-town character.

There is plenty beyond karaage: the menu also includes black-vinegar yurinchi chicken, chicken nanban, and mixed-fry set meals with crisp, aromatic fried horse mackerel and oysters. You can also choose a set combining grilled fish, its skin seared until fragrant, with karaage, then add à la carte toppings such as fried horse mackerel or fried oysters to make up a combination to your liking.

In the evening, a drinking set pairs karaage and one dish of your choice with two hours of all-you-can-drink service, making it an easy option for anything from a drink after work to a relaxed dinner. The menu also features chanko-nabe, chige-nabe and casual small plates, making 楽味 a useful spot for a solo meal or a get-together with friends.
